2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan

Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are focusing on social media safety, conflict resolution skills, and healthy relationships.

We are doing this because we aim to build on our successes last year in offering conflict resolution and social media safety seminars. We aim to create a safer, more respectful school environment where all students feel supported and connected.

Key Actions or Strategies

• Promote and clearly communicate the roles of our school support team, including Student Success Teachers, Learning Support Teachers, Social Worker, and the Public Health Nurse.

• Partner with St. Leonard’s (September 2025) to deliver digital citizenship lessons to all grades, fostering responsible and safe social media use.

• Partner with Southwestern Public Health (October 2025) to provide Mental Health Literacy lessons to all Grade 9 students, supporting emotional well-being, resilience, and healthy relationship awareness.

• Partner with St. Leonard’s (February 2026) to deliver conflict resolution and healthy relationship lessons to all Grade 9 students, promoting respectful communication, empathy, and positive peer interactions.

Community and Home Connections

• Ask your child about the digital citizenship lessons they participated in—what they learned about staying safe and respectful online.
• Try practicing conflict resolution at home by role-playing common peer challenges and discussing healthy ways to respond.
